Generally, when users are trying to delete the Exchange Database from Exchange Server then suddenly they receive this errorThis mailbox database is associated with one or more active Mailbox Export requests. To get a list of all MailboxExport requests associated with this database, run Get-MailboxExportRequest | ?{ $_.RequestQueue -eq “” }. To remove a MailboxExport request, run Remove-MailboxExportRequest.

First and the foremost thing that the user should do is to run the Get-MailboxExportRequest command in the Exchange Management Shell, to check whether the Exchange Mailbox Request is failed, completed or pending.

When users run the command they may notice that there is some failed request that is not exported. Then user have to remove these request by using the given command:

Remove-MailboxExportRequest –Identity “Administrator\MailboxExport2”

If this command isn’t successful after executing in PowerShell to remove the request. Then the user will receive this error:

To remove this error users can also suspend the Exchange Mailbox request by using the Suspend-MailboxExportRequest command and then they can remove it. If this solution is not successful then the user can restart the MRS (Microsoft Replication Service).

If the error still occurs then the user have to remove the Exchange Database from the Active Directory (AD) by using the ADSI Editor.

Note: If user are using this editor then they should be more careful because users cannot undo anything after performing any operation.

Follow the Steps to Use the ADSI Editor

Exchange Server Services has to be stopped before using the process

Step 1: Login to the Domain Controller

Step 2: Click on start menu > Select run > Insert adsiedit.msc > Click on the run button

Step 3: Then right-click > Connect to

Step 4: In the Connection point > Select Configuration

Step 5: Expand the CN = Configuration (Domain) > CN = Services > CN = Microsoft Exchange > CN = Organization > CN = Administrative Groups > CN = Databases

Step 6: User can identify the Mailbox Database > Delete it

After using all these steps the Exchange Database is permanently removed from Exchange Server. But after some time if user want some of their mailbox to recover after using the ADSI Editor.
