Create a new folder on Windows 7 like C:\Program Files\NTbackup, and place these files on NTbackup folder.

C:Windows\System32\Vssapi.dll, on NTbackup folder.

User can also download these files by extracting nt5backup.cab file. After extracting required files on Windows 7, start the process to fix corrupted data from the BKF file.

How To Restore XP BKF File in Windows 7 Using NTBackup?

Step 1. Once you have downloaded the files, double click on ntbackup.exe. Now, you will receive the below-mentioned message. Click OK.

What To Do When NTBackup Tool Fails?

Sometimes, the NTBackup tool fails to recover data from BKF files due to some errors or data corruption. If you cannot restore BKF data files in Windows using NTBackup utility, it means that your BKF file is corrupt. What has to be done now?
