Simple Procedure to Extract Text From PDF Document

Go to: Start » All Programs » SysTools PDF Toolbox

Click on "EXTRACT TEXT" to start the process of extraction.

After that click on "Add Files/Add Folder" option to select PDF files.

Select the PDF files that have to be processed. Then click on Open button:

Now the software will display all the selected files. Also, you can remove files that you don’t desire processing.

Select the destination folder path where the output has to be stored.

After selecting the desired set of PDF files, click on "Next" button to continue. Then the software will display the Options screen.

Options: Enter the details for extraction of text.

Extract Text Option

Select "Maintain Page Formatting" option to maintain the page formatting in terms of position of text in the original document.

"Maintain Page Number" option will add page number on each page at the chosen position; top or bottom, in following format:

Click on "Advance Settings" button for mentioning extra text that could be added into the extracted text file.

After clicking on "Advance Settings" option, a dialog box for; Advance Settings will appear on the screen as follows:

Add Header Text:
Enter text to be added as "Header" on each page of the document. You can also specify the page number and PDF document name. These two attributes will take run time.
Add Footer Text:
Enter text to be added as "Footer" on each page of the document. You can also specify page number and PDF document name. These two attributes will take run time.

Page Option: Select Pages on which operations are to be carried out.

• Select the "First Radio Button", and select either of the options: All, Odd, Even.
• Select "Second Radio Button" for specifying Page Range.
• Select "Third Radio Button" for specifying the page numbers.

After this, click on "Next" button to continue.

Now, the software will display a detailed summary page containing the information selected in the previous steps.

Click on "Start" button to start the process

After completing the process, the software will display a confirmation screen as follows:

The software will display a complete status report of the PDF files with File Name, File Path, and Status respectively.

You can view the extracted text file by going to the save location selected at the beginning.

You can view the converted text file and open it with the help of any text editor.
