SysTools Mac PDF Bates Numberer: Know How it Works!

Launch SysTools Mac PDF Bates Numberer on your Mac system.

Click on "Add Files / Add Folder" to insert PDFs in which you want to add bates number.

Users can also draw out wrongly added PDF files with "Remove" and "Remove All" options respectively.

Browse for PDF files present in your Mac system.

If your PDF file is secured with Document Open password/ User password, kindly provide the valid password. PDFs having only Owner-level security or also called restrictions (editing, printing, copying, etc.) DON'T need any permission password.

Select "Save" option to save your resultant PDF files in your system. With this, you can also select "Remove Encryption from PDF file(s)" option if you want to save your resultant PDF files without any encryption.

Select "Print" option if you want to print your resultant PDF files.

Click on "Change" button to provide the location to save resultant PDF files. By default the tool will save your folder on desktop.

Here you can choose the destination location to save your PDF files and then click on "Choose" to proceed.

Click on "Next" to proceed.

Here you can enter the details and customize your bates stamp. You can do this in two ways:

• Generate Bates Number For Pages: By choosing this option you can customize the PDF bates number for only pages. It means the resultant PDF files pages will have bates stamp like 01, 02, 03...so on (if you have chosen two-digit representation).
• Generate Bates Number For Files-Pages: By choosing this option you can customize the PDF bates number for pages as well as files. It means the first resultant PDF file pages will have bates stamp like 01-01, 01-02, 01-03 and the second resultant PDF file pages will have 02-01, 02-02, 02-03..so on (if you have chosen two-digit representation).

If you have chosen "Generate Bates Number For Pages" option you get the following options:

• Number of Digits: specify the number of digits you want in your PDF bates number.
• Start Number: specify the number from which you want to initate PDF bates numbering.
• Increment By: by how much you want to increase the number.
• Prefix: here you can provide the text that should come before the number.
• Suffix: here you can provide the text that should come after the number.
• Bates No. Position: you can select the position where you want place bates number in the PDF Page.

If you have chosen "Generate Bates Number For Files-Pages" option you will get all the same options (as mentioned in the above section) for both File & page bates number formats. The only difference is Under Bates Number Format for Files you also get a "Separator" option. By selecting this option, you can select separator symbol from the given choices.

Under Bates Number Font Setting you can select the font style, font size and color.

After clicking on the "Select Color" option, you get the follwing pallet to choose your desired color. After choosing the color, click on OK.

After making all the settings click on Next to make the additional settings to PDF bates number.

Here you can make all the additional and the advance settings regarding PDF bates number. All the sections are expalined in the coming steps.

Under Stamp Additional Information you get:

• Stamp Current Date: you can specify the date (in the given format) and the place where you want to mention the date.
• Stamp Confidential Text: here in this textbox you can provide the additional/ confidential text in the PDF.

Under Advance Bates Number Settings you get:

• Maintain Same Number Per File: you can choose this option to put the same bates number on each page of PDF file. In case of multiple pdf files, bates number increment will work file wise only not the pages wise.
• Continue Series For All PDF File(s): The tool will give numbering in continuation to all the pages of different PDF files.

You can also do the PDF page layout settings like settings margins, page orientation and page size.

After making all the additional settings, click on Next.

Here you can have a look on a preview on how bates number going to look like in the PDF documents. With this, given a summary of bates number settings that you have made. If satisfied, click on "Generate".

Once the tool generates PDF files with bates number, it will show you "Bates Number Generation Completed Successfully".

Now click on "View Reports" button to see export-report and resultant PDF files.

Here you will get all your resultant files. You can click on the Export Report Folder to see the CSV report.

Here is the CSV file. Click to open it.

In this sheet you can see the "success count", "fail count", and other related information.
