Know How Mac G Suite Backup Works

Step by Step procedure to operate on Mac G Suite Backup Software

Application Pre-Requisites

G Suite Backup for Macintosh

STEP 1

Launch the SysTools G Suite Backup Tool and activate it.

You can also apply the number of users for concurrent backup. To do this, go to "Settings" tab.

STEP 2

Select “G Suite” as a source platform and “Outlook” as destination platform.

The tool does not require Outlook installation on your system. The destination simply signifies that the backup format is set to "PST".

STEP 3

In the same screen, select the categories that you want to backup from GSuite under the Workload selection.

Using the Date-Range Filter option you can perform the date based selective backup of the mailbox data. Click on Next.

STEP 4

Move to the Source Screen now.

Provide the Admin Email and Service Account details carefully.

After this, upload the Certificate File that is the p12 file into the software panel and click on "Validate" to provide permissions to the user.

Complete the source side tasks by pressing the Validate button. Wait for validation and press Next.

STEP 5

Now, browse the backup folder path to set the destination where PST file will be saved. Make sure that the folder path is within 20 characters. Then press Validate

Once, Validation is done press Next to proceed.

STEP 6

Users tab has 3 options for you to choose from.

Mapping Options


Fetch automatically gets all Users from Source domain

Fetch Users

Import a premade CSV file containing user list.

Download option provides you with a template for creating your own CSV file.

STEP 7

The list of users is now, displayed on the screen.

Mark the box next to users to select them, add Priority to backup critical accounts first, toggle the Show selected button to condense the list. Press Validate The list of users is now, displayed on the screen.

When validation completes you get notified via a dialog box press Ok to continue.

STEP 8

Verify the validation (backup can be made of only the users who have all green icons) Press the Start Backup button.

Click the Ok button in the pop up to continue.

STEP 9

All the user accounts will be under any one of three criteria. First being Pending, this is for the accounts whose bacup has not yet begun.

Second is In Process, It is for the accounts currently beng backed up you can also see the exact number of items processed in real time from this screen.

In Progress

Third and final tab is Complete, those accounts whose entire data is backed up are listed here. Under the Status column of those accounts users get a green tick. When all accounts are backed up the process ends

STEP 10

After successful backup, click on Download Report

Re-Run Backup option is also provided in order to perform the backup again.
