SysTools IMAP Migrator Technical Datasheet

Pre-Requisites

  • IMAP client Port number should be required.
  • App password should be required.
  • IMAP Server name should be required.
  • Username should be required.
  • IMAP should be enabled for the source account.
  • A less secure app should be ON.
  • Net connection bandwidth minimum 100mbps is required.
  • Proxy Settings should not block the network call.
  • Antivirus should not block the application.
  • The destination account should be present at the destination domain.
  • The application will migrate data from the folders which are visible to the IMAP server.
  • The destination account should have a valid license.

Shortcomings and Limitations



Limitation Reason
All folders present even if they are outside the date filter’s range The application is designed to preprocess the folders first and then the Emails.
Rate Limits & Throttling Many providers limit the number of IMAP requests per hour/day
Too many requests can cause temporary blocks or account suspensions.
Mailbox Storage Limits Make sure destination account have Enough space to migrate emails
Attachment Size Limits Large emails may fail or be truncated.(e.g., Gmail: 25 MB, ZOHO: 20 MB).
Folder Mapping Problems Folder names may vary across providers (e.g., Sent Mail in Gmail vs. Sent Items in Outlook).
All Mail folder not migrated Some folders may not migrate (e.g., Gmail’s [Gmail]/All Mail folder isn’t a standard IMAP folder).
