Step 1: Profile Folder Location

Without Opening Thunderbird:

  • Open the Run dialog box using the Windows + R keys.

When the Thunderbird app is open:

  • Click the Help option from the topmost menu list and select Troubleshooting Information.

  • Next, click the about:profiles link under the Application Basics section.

  • A new tab (About Profiles) with details of your configured profile(s) will open up.

Step 3: Profile Management

The next step is to manage Thunderbird profile under the Profile Manager. Moreover, you can rename it and make a backup of it.

Without Opening Thunderbird:

  • Open the Run dialog box and enter the desired Thunderbird command to open the Profile Manager box.
  • Select the configured profile(s) and click the Rename Profile button to change the name.

  • Check the Work Offline box to access your profile(s) without internet connectivity.

  • Click the Delete Profile button to remove the profile(s) permanently. However, remember that deleting the profile(s) (even the configured ones) will delete all the associated data – emails, configurations, settings, and other data.

  • Use the Create Profile button to make a new Thunderbird profile using the Create Profile Wizard.

When the Thunderbird app is open:

  • Open the About Profiles section using the method mentioned in the previous step.
  • Click on the Create Profile button to make a new Thunderbird profile.
  • Here, you can see a Restart option for the app with two choices: with Add-ons disabled and Restart normally.
  • Click on the desired option after you finish making the new profile.
  • Using this method to delete your configured profile(s) isn’t beneficial.
