How to Use Mac Document Viewer - Check with Complete Steps

Explore the complete process to open, view and read 40+ document types on macOS

STEP 1

Launch SysTools Document Viewer on your Mac. The initial software screen is as follows:

STEP 2

Click on Add File(s) or Add Folder(s) option to add the files/folders to the software.

  • Add File(s): Use this button to add one or more document files into the software.
  • Add Folder(s): Use this button to add a folder, that contains multiple documents within it, into the software.

If you want to discard the selected files from selection, tap on Remove button on the tool.

On the other hand, Choose Remove All button to remove all the files from the tool.

STEP 3

If any added file has a password, kindly fill in the password in the provided section so that the software can process and view these documents.

STEP 4

In this screen, click on the file to preview the document in the software interface itself.

You can move the preview window top, bottom, left, and right or scroll in the preview space to view the documents if its too big for the preview window size.

STEP 5

You can preview another document by simply clicking on it in the left side panel. This panel can be used to quickly switch between documents' preview without having to add them each time.

STEP 6

If you want to save your document(s) as PDF file(s), you can click on the Upgrade

You will get a confirmation prompt to upgrade the viewer to its advanced version. Here, click on Upgrade button again to confirm.

Clicking on the second Upgrade button takes you to the Document Converter page which is an advanced version of this free Document Viewer.

This advanced version converts Documents to PDF on macOS with advanced settings:

Header & Footer Settings

  • Header Text: Type what you want to appear in header.
  • Header Position: Top Middle
  • Footer Text: Type what you want to appear in footer.
  • Footer Positions: Bottom Left, Bottom Right, Bottom Middle

Font Settings

  • Font: Arial, Helvetica, Times-roman, Verdana, Georgia
  • Font Size: 8, 10, 12
  • Font Color: Black, Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Pink

Page Layout Settings

  • Margins (Top, Bottom, Left, Right): 2.0 mm to 10.0 mm
  • Paper Orientation: Portrait, Landscape
  • Page Size: A4, A3, Letter

Bates Number

  • Bates Number Format: Start number, Increment by, Position (Bottom Right, Bottom Middle, Top Right)
  • Date Stamp:
  • Position: Top Left, Bottom Right, Top Right
  • Format: 8 Date Formats
