Easy Guide to Migrate Data from Office 365 to SharePoint
Office 365 is basically an innovation from the Microsoft which is entirely subscription based and consists of cloud related applications for the management and functioning of a business. One of the applications this package offers is SharePoint Online. Every product that is included in Office 365 differs depending on the platform i.e. on-premise to online versions. This section will be discussing about how to transfer data from Office 365 to SharePoint i.e. cloud data as on-premise counterparts which is basically preferred for offline usage purpose.
The SkyDrive sync client lets users synchronize library to their respective computer to make it possible for them to work with library data directly from their file system itself possible. Here are the stepwise procedure to be followed for synchronize SkyDrive library files to file system.
Click on SkyDrive button given on the menu bar of your screen.
Click on Sync option given on top of the page to proceed with synchronization.
Click on Sync Now button that begins the respective procedure immediately.
A new SkyDrive pro wizard will open consisting of information about the library that is going to be synchronized after this procedure; location where synchronized data can be found; and a change button using which one can change the location for storing synchronized data on their file system accordingly.
A dialog box will appear showing the procedure of preparing library files for synchronization.
A new dialogue box will appear after preparation of synchronization is finished.
Click on the Show My Files given on the bottom right of the wizard.
This will take you to the folder where all the library data is getting saved via synchronization.
Either wait for all the files to get downloaded or start using the ones that have been downloaded.
The files that are being downloaded successfully will be marked with a green tick mark.
In case there is a problem synching the file, it will be marked with a red colored cross mark.
The folder for storing synchronized data by default will fall under Favorites section of your system.
NOTE: Once all library files have successfully been downloaded they can be accessed offline on the system for editing purposes. The updates of editing done within respective documents will immediately get synchronized with SharePoint.
If you require synchronizing a different library then:
Go to the tray icon of your system taskbar and click on Sync A New Library.
Provide the respective web address of library that you require synching and follow the steps 4 to 8 given above.
